Rajeeb Dey
Rajeeb Dey (born 6 December 1985) is a serial entrepreneur. He is the winner of the 02 X Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 Award[1][2] and has been referred to as “among the most high profile” young entrepreneur by the Financial Times[3]
University life
Rajeeb graduated with First Class Honours in June 2008 from Jesus College, University of Oxford in Economics & Management.[4] Whilst at University he was the longest serving President of Oxford Entrepreneurs, the student society for entrepreneurs at the University of Oxford.[5] He was also President of the Oxford Majlis Asian Society, founded in 1896 as a political forum for Indian independence and the second oldest society at Oxford University.[6] Former members and Presidents include Mrs. Indira Gandhi and K.P.S. Menon, who went on to serve the subcontinent with distinction.
English Secondary Students' Association (ESSA)
At 17, Rajeeb became the Founder & Chairman of the English Secondary Students’ Association (ESSA) – the first national student run organisation empowering secondary school students, giving them a voice in education.[7][8][9] He is often quoted in the media, including The Times Educational Supplement,[10][11][12][13] New Statesman,[14] The Guardian[15][16] as well as BBC Radio 4[17] commenting on matters related to ESSA and student voice.
Enternships.com
Rajeeb is also the Founder/CEO of Enternships.com, a service providing “entrepreneurial work placements” by connecting students and graduates to start-ups, SMEs and “intrapreneurial” firms worldwide for which Rajeeb received the 02 X Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009.[18][1][19][20] Enternships.com was a Top 3 Finalist in the Esquire Magazine / Philips New Business Challenge; Finalist in the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 “Life Academy” Awards[21] and has received global media coverage in The Sunday Times,[22] CNN,[23][24] The Daily Telegraph,[25][26] ABC News,[27] Financial Times,[28][29] Business Week,[30] Wall Street Journal,[31] Growing Business Magazine,[32] Real Business Magazine,[33] The Sun (Scotland),[34] The Ecologist,[35] The Times,[36] The Guardian,[37] Times Educational Supplement,[38] BBC World Service,[39] amongst others. Rajeeb was profiled by the Institute of Directors as the Director of the Month in March 2010[40] and as one of the UK’s Top 30 Entrepreneurs aged Under 30 in Real Business Magazine (April 2010).[41]
Oxasians
In April 2010 Rajeeb was featured in an exhibition and museum installation called "Oxasians".[42][43] The purpose of the exhibition was to showcase Oxford University's famous South-Asian graduates.[44][45] Rajeeb was featured alongside Manmohan Singh, Benazir Bhutto, Indira Gandhi, Ved Mehta, Cornelia Sorabji, Princesses Catherine and Bamba Duleep Singh, Solomon Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi and Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi.
Awards & Accolades
Rajeeb’s work with ESSA has led to him being presented with an award by Channel 4 & NESTA’s “Bedroom Britain Campaign” (recognising young entrepreneurial talent in Britain),[46] a Wavemakers Award (from Sir John Major);[47] an UnLtd Level 2 Award;[48] the Bank of England’s Windsor Fellowship in 2005 (a prestigious Leadership Development programme); the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Award in 2006[49] and Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts.[50] In 2008 he was selected as one of twelve people globally to be given the accolade of “Architect of the Future” by the Waldzell Institute[51] and one of twenty globally to receive the YouthActionNet Global Fellowship 2008.[52] He is a member of The Courvoisier Future 500 network – ‘an exclusive network of rising stars across the UK’ and has been chosen as one of five within the network to be named in The Observer as “One to Watch in 2010”.[53] He has also been invited to join the British Council’s Trans-Atlantic Network 2020 – a network of emerging leaders from around the world.[54]

Rajeeb is an Ambassador for Enterprise UK – helping to promote UK entrepreneurship;[55] Trustee and Investment Committee member of UnLtd – the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs;[56] Trustee of the Phoenix Education Trust;[57] a Commissioner on the Carnegie UK Trust’s Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society;[58] Education Advisory Board Member for Channel 4; and an Advisory Board Member of the UK-India Business Council (UKIBC) Next Generation Network.[59]
